Monday, May 11,  ALL DAY. This is still on!!! Chalk the Walk along Mapleton’s Parkway Trail. This year pick any section of trail and following social distancing we invite everyone in the community to bring their chalk & artistic talent to this amazing canvas! * We will be monitoring the trail to make sure socail distancing is happening and ask your cooperation in avoiding gathering. If the trail is busy choose a different time or section!!!

We encourage everyone to draw pictures or write positive thoughts. IT MUST BE DEEMED FAMILY FRIENDLY! Mapleton Parks & Recration at their discrection will ask you to leave. CHALK must be washable!!! Hosted by Mapleton Parks & Recreation

Guidelines & Tips 2020 


Friday, July 24th Mapleton’s Pioneer Day Celebration. The day begins with a traditional patriotic program, a 5K race / fun run with a parade beginning at 9:00 AM & followed by activities in Mapleton City park (morning activities by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).

The evening celebration includes a helicopter Ping Pong Ball Drop (chance to win a bike), skydivers, food vendors, an incredible concert by THE SALAMANDERS and an unforgettable firework show!  Come and join in the fun!  *FREE Ping Pong Ball drop registration begins July 1 at the Parks & Rec. office. (evening activities by Mapleton City)

Concerts in the Park & Farmers Market

Monday nights during July and August starting at 7:00 PM at the Mapleton City Park Gazebo. Bring a chair or a blanket, sit back, relax, & enjoy the music this summer with the Concerts in the Park Series. For a list of upcoming performers please check our website.  You will also want to take an opportunity to stroll through our Farmer’s Market and do a little shopping before the concert begins. Moonlight Half Marathon

Friday, September 11 - Come run in the light of the moon! The winner is the first to cross the line after midnight! No timing devices are allowed. Your pace determines when you start, you decided. Race entry includes a shirt & FREE light up swag! Awards are given for best light up costumes!  There will be an after party with prize drawings, drinks, food, etc! Saturday, October 10 at Mapleton City Park.  We invite everyone to create a one-of-a-kind scarecrow for this competition. Individuals, families, businesses, or organizations can participate for fun prizes!  We provide the post & you provide the scarecrow! Everyone can come walk among the scarecrows & cast a vote for their favorite! Other activities include a Great Pumpkin Growing contest, guessing games, face painting and more! Food Trucks will be on hand for tasty treats or dinner! The scarecrows will be on display at the City Park through the end of October. Hosted by Mapleton Parks & Recreation

Christmas Tree Lighting & Wreath Festival 

Monday, November 30th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM.

This years event will include the annual lighting of Mapleton City Park, music, a visit from Santa to say 'HELLO',  s'more, food trucks, & more!  There will also be a display and silent auction of wreaths to benefit the Sub for Santa program. Come take a Christmas walk through the City Park and enjoy the spectacular lights through the entire, month of December. Hosted by Mapleton Parks & Recreation
